What we build and look after
Six kinds of work, done by one crew. Each one starts with a visit to your yard and a written estimate.

Spring to fall
Patios and walkways
A patio is only as good as what is under it. We dig out, lay and compact a gravel base, set the stone or pavers with a slight slope so water runs off, and finish the joints so weeds have a hard time.
- Flagstone and natural stone
- Concrete pavers
- Steps and landings
- Stepping-stone paths
- Fire pit areas
- Repairs and relevelling

Spring and fall
Retaining walls
Walls fail when water gets trapped behind them. Every wall we build has a gravel backfill and a drain pipe at the base, and taller walls are stepped back into the slope.
- Natural stone walls
- Segmental block walls
- Garden and seat walls
- Drainage behind every wall
- Steps cut into slopes
- Repairs to leaning walls

Spring and fall
Planting and garden beds
We look at how much sun the spot gets and what the soil is like, then pick plants that will do well there. Beds get a crisp edge, good soil worked in, and a layer of mulch.
- New beds and borders
- Shrubs and small trees
- Perennials and grasses
- Soil improvement
- Mulch and bed edging
- Pruning and shaping

Spring to fall
Lawn care and mowing
Weekly or every-other-week visits: mowing at the right height for the season, string trimming, edging along paths and beds, and clippings blown off hard surfaces.
- Weekly mowing
- Edging and trimming
- Aeration and overseeding
- New lawns from seed or sod
- Fertilizing schedules
- Spring and fall cleanups

All year
Landscape lighting
Low-voltage lights along paths and steps make a yard safer after dark and let you use it in the evening. We run the cable below ground and set everything on a timer or photocell.
- Path and step lights
- Uplights on trees and walls
- Patio and deck lights
- Timers and photocells
- LED fixtures
- Bulb and fixture repairs

Spring and fall
Seasonal cleanup
In the fall we clear leaves from lawns and beds, cut back perennials and get the yard ready for winter. In spring we clean up what winter left and get beds ready to grow.
- Leaf removal
- Cutting back perennials
- Bed cleanup and edging
- Gutter-line debris
- Haul-away of yard waste
- First mow of the year
